The challenge

The Gloo concept? Simplifying every aspect of organising an outing with friends! The aim of this project is to deliver every step of the mobile app's design with the project team: from UX to UI through art direction, to turn the concept into a high-quality product.

Study detail

Visual identity

Defining a complete graphic world that conveys the project's values.

The Gloo concept is full of keywords like “gathering”, “human”, “movement”, “reunion” or “moments”. At its root, Gloo is born from an observation: with an accelerated pace of life, we no longer take the time to come together!

The symbolism of the bird conveys this idea that we are always on the move. As the app invites friends to come together around a meal, the idea of merging a bird and a fork makes sense: “we all have our own busy routines, but thanks to Gloo we can fly and meet in the same place to share a moment together.”

The symbol represents gathering through its 3 wings: so 3 people in motion: and at the same time merges with a fork to evoke the shared moment. The typography is also reworked to evoke reunion through the merging of the two O's.

This app’s brand image has to be as dynamic as its users.
A colourful and whimsical world is built around feathered mascots. The palette extends the visual identity. It picks up the colours of tropical birds to show the diversity of Gloo users. The gradients convey the movement of our active lives.

Co-design workshop

Sketching, user flows and storyboards!

This method lets users and UX designers work together during collaborative workshops.

They have several goals: analysing the need, translating it into features, and a first direction for the information architecture of the app’s screens.

Designing the wireframes

The wireframes translate the information architecture and the interaction journey. They make it possible to visualise the concept and the associated features concretely.

Wireframes of the mobile app

Graphic design: UI, marketing and live events

Building on the defined identity, we carry the wireframes over into graphic mockups.

The UI design is produced for the whole app: the full journey from onboarding to leaving the app is covered.

Motion design work is produced to accentuate the dynamism of the graphic world.

App onboarding

Communication materials are produced to support the app’s marketing both on social media and at live events.
