Nielsen's 10 heuristics are general usability principles that let you evaluate an interface by putting yourself in the user's shoes. Published in 1994, Nielsen's heuristics have remained unchanged since then, with only their examples updated. They remain the most widely used user experience evaluation method in the sector. Ten in number, these heuristics rest on pragmatic and universally known foundations. At Akiani, we apply this method alongside Bastien and Scapin's criteria to cover a broad swathe of the user experience.
