Designing the test protocol
Getting to know the subject, its history, the stakeholders and their views
To get the work started, a scientific review of the state of the art in securing public spaces gives us a first level of knowledge about what has already been tested and the positive or negative feedback it produced.
The team then meets various stakeholders to understand the different views depending on their position. The protocol is built on the basis of the state of the art and the first interviews. Finally, hypotheses are formed and objectives are set to address the problem.
Meeting the users of the Doyen Brus green space
A field study by day and by night, at busy times and quiet ones
Between passive observations and questionnaires, we collect 71 responses on the perception of and expectations for the space. Thanks to the questionnaire, quantitative data is analysed and given nuance by the qualitative exchanges.
Presenting the results and a co-design workshop
Sharing methodology, analysis and results with the stakeholders
We present 13 recommendations and a benchmark to draw inspiration from existing solutions. Using the recommendations, we prioritise them to address the different points according to their relevance. The aim here is to find suitable solutions while taking everyone’s constraints into account.
Support and pedagogy
Explaining the user-centred approach to the partners
Throughout the project, we support our client in presenting and explaining the user-centred approach set up for this project to the various partners.
The resulting deliverable presents all the recommendations to implement in order to secure the area, given all the stakeholders’ constraints. It supports the exchanges between the parties to define the action plan and the concrete measures that will be taken.
